When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth. – Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, stated by Sherlock Holmes
"Are ghosts real"?A simple yet controversial question , which if put to any group of people in a normal social setting: bar, restaurant, dinner table, or just waiting in line at the grocery store... this question will illicit a myriad of responses ranging from reverence to ridicule!
What however is THE TRUTH?
Alas! If you are reading this then, you are probably already able to answer that question and are looking for more information to better understand some type of abnormal experience of the paranormal brand. When I started this blog some years ago, it was more of a way of channeling a great deal of pent-up stress and energy relating to this issue.
As I began attempting to document what I was experiencing however, it got worse, essentially, I aggravated the haunting. Therefore, my first word of advice for anyone being haunted, the more you acknowledge it, especially by recording or videoing it, the greater the energy will be surrounding the haunting.
At the time however my understanding of the phenomena was, like many others, skeptical and limited.
While I had the capacity to tackle life's greatest challenges both academic and literal (in daily challenges), I had never quite worked up the desire will or courage to... confront other more... elusive aspects of life... what we now refer to as: the PARANORMAL, which seems somehow to always surround us.
I use word "paranormal" as a form of common parlance, to reference ANYTHING OUTSIDE THE SCOPE OF WHAT IS generally, scientifically, and socially considered "NORMAL".
I come from a no-nonsense military family, went to high school, and college, I was a Catholic by raising, a Muslim convert, a business professional, and finally later, something quite different from the two after experiencing an event where I was forced to CONFRONT THE PARANORMAL REALITY around me, and others that I loved.
In fact, I think that it was the desire to protect both my loved ones and myself, through understanding, rather than ridicule. Hence, I set out to become an AMATURE PARANORMAL INVESTIGATOR of sorts.I sought out the truth and conducted expiraments. I recorded my findings and have collated the data, and even started a couple of blogs to share some of my experience.
Some of the places I visited include the Queen Mary, the Salton Sea, the San Bernardino mountains, the Palm Springs desert, and cemeteries through out one specific geographic area... Southern California.
What I found
Ghost hunting is inherently dangerous. It's similar to hunting a dangerous wild animal, but an invisible one, or if you happen up on a demon - an insect like entities. There are few ghost hunters that are true skeptics.
Somehow after it all I find myself oddly liberated, I walk with my eyes open and see what others would never hope to see in a lifetime... undoubtedly, I am changed and will never see life the same again.
Within my heart there was a raging conflict between what I "thought" , and what I was saw with my eyes and experience - somehow, I became a product of both realities. The one we all know, and... the other one. The place known to Muslims as Al Ghayb loosely translated THE UNSEEN WORLD.
A place where God, his Hosts, and other beings exist. A place very real, and generally off limits to all but a few.
What motivated this change? Exploration and confrontation of the paranormal events seemingly inveterate in the very fabric of the world around us. In other words: I kept seeing, and experiencing the presence of hauntings, and ghosts.
After experiencing a haunting, I became something of an URBAN EXPLORER AND GHOST hunter, but it didn't end there, and this blog is a record of some of those most potent and mind changing events.
Essentially to deny the existence of an unseen (but not undetectable or unknown) world around us is to deny the very existence of God and the creations spoken about in Spiritual texts such as the Bible, Baghavagita, and the Qur'an (as well as others).
These texts however arose out of a need to confront a very real phenomena around human life: the existence not only of EVIL, BUT OF UNSEEN forces, and our very real need to peacefully co exists with and among them.
Denial is the first and largest portal to being haunted.
To think that we are alone is a type of hubris from which many vain and shallow men suffer, to believe it however, and go forth as if the ASSUMPTION is true, is simply folly, and denies the very visible, well documented and accessible paranormal world around each and every human.
Today we simply sum this all up with vague terms like " THE SPIRITUAL WORLD", however with modern atheistic thought and rationalist thinking to accept something which cannot be empirically verified is by its nature IRRATIONAL!
This is true of course, but if applied to its logical end - this line of thought excludes a vast amount of SCIENTIFIC THEORY AND SUPPOSITION about the natural world around us which has yet to be confirmed such as : the weight of planet Earth, the actual distance and breadth of the universe, the origin of impossible biological life... and of course my personal favorite, what is at the bottom of the sea?
YET WE LIVE SPEAK AND ACT AS IF WE ACTUALLY KNOW THESE THINGS.
It is well understood that WE STILL KNOW VERY LITTLE about our natural world, its components and its inhabitants, yet we deny the existence of entire groups of beings without proper knowledge or even thorough and unbiased public inquiry.
The results of this RATIONAL APPROACH? Have been to put many of us into early graves, the proliferation of mental illnesses and of course the everyday wacko that claims INFATICALLY "I heard voices that told me to do it"!
A better question is... WHAT IF THEY DID?
If ghosts were proven to be real, and if a person insisted that a ghost or demon made him/her do it... wouldn't that be something relevant to know at a trial?
A trial where all participants SWEAR BY AN UNSEEN GOD, and A BIBLE, that talks about SATAN, GHOSTS, DEMONS, SPRITS, ANGELS...
It should matter. Due to the actual social impact, it is thought to have, the existence of ghosts, or spirits, let alone malicious ones known as demons, is outright denied, and even worse, ridiculed as patently untrue!
At least by those who have no CONSCIOUSS awareness of them.
Many advocate the philosophy that we only KNOW what we see... and even a child can attest, that is very little.
Hence while we admit that our ignorance of the natural world around us WHICH IS VISIBLE is monumental, we insist emphatically that we are right in ruling out the existence of something some allege we have no knowledge of at all.
Yet the most amazing scientific discoveries center around study of this exact phenomena, spiritual or QUANTUM WORLD, or in more technical terms "QUANTUM FIELD".
An unseen invisible energy field which extends at all places and all times throughout the universe.
Therefore, it is not the intelligent and enlightened person that denies the existence of ghosts and things to that nature but rather the unintelligent.
As with all other subject's observation and experience will ultimately determine what we think as a collective group of people. This is the standard in court "witness testimony", and "proof", yet in the court of public opinion the bar is even higher than REASONABLE DOUBT, as most people are demanding PROOF BEYOND A DOUBT.
For them the answer (until they get haunted or abducted) will always be NO. For the normal people however, the answer is far more interesting.
The following are a compilation of videos, photos and articles which lay out in excruciating detail exactly what happened to me once I made the decision to INVESTIGATE, STUDY AND DOCUMENT my experience with the paranormal.
